For three years, I collaborated with Queens College’s Center for Teaching and Learning on a project that sought to promote the faculty’s development of instructional multimedia. This project sought to explore the practicalities of faculty multimedia development and the use of multimedia in asynchronous course designs. Although these practices and skills are commonplace today, these were very new issues facing faculty in the early 2010s.
This project developed a basic model for developing asynchronous learning content libraries, a core set of content for use in Queens College Sociology methodology and statistics classes, and the development of College-level media production facilities and programs. This experience provided the foundation of my current work on Web 2.0 media.
