Cohen, J. N. (2026). Supply Chain Simulator: An Independent Implementation of MIT Beer Distribution Game Exercise.

Overview

A seeded, four-role supply-chain simulation for classroom use, reproducing the bullwhip effect documented in the system-dynamics literatur, adapted from MIT Sloan’s Beer Distribution Game. The four-tier chain, ordering and shipping delays, and demand-shock mechanics are an implementatino of J. W. Forrester’s original production-distribution model (MIT System Dynamics Group, late 1950s) and J. D. Sterman’s 1989 Management Science study.
