I am happy to share Supply Chain Simulator, a four-person simulation of a hypothetical supply chain that must engage in inventory management under limited information. The exercise is derived from the same underlying principles as MIT Sloan School’s Beer Game. The exercise is part of a larger class on sensemaking and will be paired with readings from two great organizational theorists: Gareth Morgan (Canada) and the recently deceased Karl Weick (USA).
The game was developed for use in my class on Strategy & Decision-Making at Queens College in the City University of New York. If you are taking this class, please do not play this game, as doing so will ruin your learning experience. You will be happy not to know the end.
The simulation is free and can be played using a single cellphone, iPad, or laptop. Access it directly at: https://jncohen.github.io/supply-chain-simulation/
